Summary |
| Experienced in analog and digital hardware. Designed, constructed, tested and documented electronic equipment. Developed electrical hardware for test and automated control systems including electro-hydraulics. Developed and coded custom and proprietary test and analysis software. Involved in scientific/ mathematical/ engineering analysis of circuitry via software applications. Developed and presented technical presentations and instruction on digital circuits. |
Work Experience |
2007-present (Client site contract engineer) BAE
Analyzed electronic circuitry at the PWB and component level via simulations and math techniques to define circuit failure modes for FMECA related support. Developed and applied built in test isolation tables for military engine controller analog interfaces that include reverse engineering torque motor, VDT, resolver, thermocouple and RTD circuits. Incorporated methodologies for implementation of failure isolation into real-time system.
2006-2007 (Contract consulting) Keithley Instruments
Analyzed appropriateness of a new PWB circuit design at component level. Calculated performance and uncertainty of required new analog device standards to fit 17025 methods. Defined calibration methods of PWB including addition of extension and fixture cables. Developed test procedures for new circuits and wrote procedures for manufacturing final test.
1999-2006 LORD Corporation
Designed and constructed an active standby power supply for hydraulic control. Provided custom environmental chamber for new product evaluation with PID temperature control, Type K T/C, driving strap heaters via triac control and liquid nitrogen supply via valve drivers, and interfaced to a PC with NI Labview software. Created test procedures for real-time controllers for hydraulics. Provided proprietary post analysis of data with test sequence generators coded in C++. Redesigned a large HP motor driver interface and designed and built the PWB circuits. Coordinated controls design for new part design endurance and measurement test systems and spec'd latest generation of controllers.
1994-1999 (Temp to Perm) General Electric Transportation Systems
Developed and built stimulus and sensing circuits and incorporated loopback test code in C for GETS Controls tests. Created a subset of real time routines driving inverter hardware, suitable for test, allowed for simpler test development over a packet based local network. Contributed to the PWB circuit design effort of the IFD Customer Response Team to develop a new IDU. Analyzed circuit failure modes that reduced IFD reliability.
(Contract and consulting 1991-1994)
1992-1993 American Telephone & Telegraph, Reading
1992 American Electronics Labs
1991-1992 Turnkey Control Systems
Designed and developed C based Test System Program for Laser Receiver Pin. Included GUI Interface, on the PC based Test Controller. Developed Test Systems, Hardware and Software and Networking, for Advanced Fiber Optic Lightwave Digital Telecommunications Modules, Boards and Racks. Completed Rocky Mountain BASIC code development and provided feature upgrades for Automated Millimeter Wave Receiver Test System in final test. Wired the interface and designed and wrote Code for Industrial PLC Controller interfaced to large HP Electrical Motors in a HVAC application. Supervised and managed six techs in an electronic construction lab with full electronic inventory and fabrication equipment involved with design and build of electronic PWBs used as 'glue' circuits of DUT to test controller. Troubleshot and repaired PWB circuits in DVM's, scopes, supplies, etc., if required prior to calibration.
