PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Marathon Oil EG LNG Sr. Contracts Advisor responsible for the planning set up and co-ordination of all Contracts and for EG LNG Train 1, with close coordination with Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance departments to ensure all their individual Contract needs are meet. Responsible for negotiating all major contracts for equipment, services and maintenance for the construction and operation of the plant.
Supervise a staff of four on site Contracts Analyst/Administrators’ and two in Houston
Logistics Manager responsible for the planning, set up and co-ordination of all Procurement, Contracts and International Logistics, {Vessel, Air, Truck and Warehouse) for $200 Million USD project operated by Nexen Inc. (Canadian Nexen Petroleum East Al-Hajr Ltd.) and the Yemen Government. Supervised staff of 16 and secured tender and bid documents for drilling & service rigs construction contracts as well as support services for drilling and construction.
Set up and co-ordination of cost scheduling and planning for Logistics, {Vessel, Rail, Truck and air) for $3.5 Billion US project operated by consortium consisting of Exxon/Mobil Corporation, Petronas, Chevron/Texaco on the Chad Development Project. Supervised staff of 9 and secured tenders and bid documents for Air, Ocean and road freight, and freight forwarding.
Successful set up and co-ordination of all Procurement and International Logistics, {Vessel, Rail Truck and Warehouse) for $2 Billion US project operated by consortium consisting of State Petroleum Corporation/Talisman Energy, Petronas, China National Petroleum Company and Sudapet. Supervised staff of 29 and secured tender and bid documents for drilling rigs offshore mooring dolphins.
Completed Ocelot ammonia plant project $12 MM under budget ($80 MM) and ahead of schedule despite 3 week labor interruption this included the deep-water marine loading and cool down facilities.
Responsible for generating $2.7 MM profit on the construction of $18MM chemical terminal on time and under budget.
Initiated contact with company officials which led to a proposal for purchase of Nova Methanol business and a resultant $60 MM savings in first 12 months
Successfully handled the responsibility of building new 30,000 tonne vessel for Caribbean fleet. Three new 30,000 tonne IMO II vessels for New Zealand and the tendering and building of two new 45,000 tonne IMO II/III ships for Methanex’s Chile plants, and the lease of 500 Rail cars.
Initiated tenders for 3 additional 45/60/95,000 tonne Chemical vessels for Chile Methanol plant

Successful implementation and co-ordination of international procurement, contracts, and logistics for the Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Co. (GNPOC) in Khartoum Sudan for their $2 Billion US project. Strong communication with consortium required, comprised of State Petroleum Corporation, Petronas, China National Petroleum Company and Sudapet. Controlled all Vessel, Rail and Truck movements nationally and internationally.
Proposed, planned and implemented formation and setup of waterfront shipping for Methanex, where net savings due to reduced costs and increased customer service efficiencies totaled over $10MM US the first year
Prepared distribution matrix prior to acquisition which demonstrated freight savings of $2l-22MM per annum, and successfully negotiated with shipping companies, brokers, agents, producers, and customers to attain goal
CONSTRUCTION
Set up and co-ordination of all Procurement, Contracts and International Logistics, operated by Nexen Inc. (Canadian Nexen Petroleum East Al-Hajr Ltd.) and the Yemen Government. Supervised staff of 16 and secured tender and bid documents for all the CPF construction contracts as well as support services for drilling and continuous operations.
Responsible for acquisition and supply of all materials and services for field operations of CNPE including construction, drilling, exploration and production departments as well as maintenance
Relied on for acquisition and supply of all materials and services for field operations of GNPOC including construction, drilling, exploration and production departments
Supplied additional support for the construction of 1,500 km 28 inch pipeline, pumping stations and deep sea marine terminal in Port Sudan
Supervised the activities of up to 30 field expeditors dealing with subcontractors for $900MM LNG plant and met delivery timelines to export terminals due to knowledge of chartered ships, planes and barges requirements

OPERATIONS
Responsible at Nexen for the management of 16 personnel including procurement specialist, buyers, contracts specialist, expediters, logistics, materials analyst, warehouse and freight forwarders. Responsible for the initial training of nationals due to my capabilities and previous knowledge of operational procedures
Undertook the writing of, procurement, expediting, tendering, logistics/warehousing procedures and codes of ethics for a new consortium company Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company in Sudan, which were approved by the board and implemented for day-to-day operations.
Smooth management of 29 personnel including buyers, contracts specialist, expediters, logistics, materials analyst, warehouse and freight forwarders handled due in part to initial training capabilities and previous knowledge of operational procedures
Designed and drafted new policies and procedures, for Methanex Vancouver office, then managed the implementation and set up of a new organizational structure for the transportation/logistics and customer service departments. Hired and trained staff for these areas with result being smooth policy roll out being on time and within budget
Designed and implemented a purchasing and budgetary control system including monthly reports for construction and transportation costs, the management/supervision of up to 11 staff and annual budgets of up to $175MM US
Successfully managed daily operations for 14 ships, fleet of 1,100 rail cars and system of 20 deep-sea chemical terminals. Associated is purchasing bunkers, appointment of agents, contracting marine surveyors and setting up rotation system to optimize sailings.
Proposed ship design standards for 30,000 and 40,000 tonne vessels for shipping methanol with result of design being adopted and implemented
Identified ShipNet software, a stand-alone vessel management system, purchased and implemented its use
Co-coordinated the set up of the first purchasing department for Ocelot Industries
Implemented first contract with Formosa Plastics in 1988 which has seen zero escalation to date
