– Responsible for the safety of lives of the ship’s crew and ship owner’s property while at sea during navigational or cargo watches. Also being responsible to avoid occurrence of pollution to the clean seas.

– Designated as the main Cargo Officer onboard. Shoulder full responsibility on the smooth transfer of the cargo in/out of the vessel. Full responsibility in ensuring that all stability criteria are safely met and that all cargo figures are met as the charterers’ demand.

– Ensure that all cargo equipment are maintained and checked regularly to achieve maximum effectiveness during cargo transfer. Fully responsible for the overall planned maintenance of the vessel that includes monitoring and forecasting over a 6 months period. Ensure that all deck equipment are kept and maintained to the highest standard possible.

– Ensure that vessels have sufficient spares in order to be in fully operation mode and all spares and equipment to be in kept updated with full inventory records.

– Conducting the monthly shipboard safety and ISPS trainings for the ship’s crew to enhance their knowledge. Training of the rest of the Junior Officers in cargo matters. Ensure that safety is being practice and well cultured among the ship staffs. Chaired the monthly safety meetings within the Deck Department.

– In-charge in planning the capacity management for the vessel and also managing a multi-lingual/multi-national workforce of 30 people. Ensure that disciplined attitudes are being maintained onboard the vessel.

– Responsible as a Public Relation Representative on behalf of the Master during external visits from shore personnel. Solely attending to cargo representatives, cargo surveyors, terminal representatives, Port State Control officers, US Coast Guards, Oil Major Inspectors, vendors and etc.

– Follow-up with the Master on deficiencies matters involving safety and proper operation aspects. Assist the Master in navigational matter especially when transiting long pilotage area.

– Involving in Assist in Crisis and Risk Management Team as a Senior Officer to handle issues pertaining to any hazardous crisis onboard.

– Planning and implementing safety systems and ship-specific emergency response systems onboard with the Senior Officers.

– Successfully prepared each vessel for oil major inspections and internal and external audits on a regular basis. Have conducted various life-saving and oil spill response drills under the close supervision of the United States Coast Guard and other established oil major companies in the United States on a regular basis.

– Prepared documentation and record keeping required for ISM/ISO certification purposes and also act as a member of a team that carries out cross audits for inter-departments.


Designation : Second Officer.

Responsibilities:

– Responsible for the safety of lives of the ship’s crew and ship owner’s property while at sea during navigational or cargo watches. Also being responsible to avoid occurrence of pollution to the clean seas. This should also include but not limited to as duties of a navigating officer as mentioned below;

Solely responsible for the structuring and maintaining of the safe navigation passage system of the vessel which includes;
~passage planning
~up-keeping and maintenance of all navigational equipment onboard the vessel.

– In-charged of all updated and current concerned publications as required by the respective flag states and company’s regulations.

– In-charged of all enforced chart corrections for all the charts onboard the vessel.

– Coordinating and supervising the ship’s crew performances under the direct orders of the Chief Officer and the Master himself for the sake of the safe and smooth operations of the vessel.

– Responsible to monitor the cargo transfer between the ship and shore when designated as the Officer on Watch.
