Summary |
I am an experienced QA/QC Manager with over 30 years experience in the Welding Fabrication / Inspection Industry compiling welding, NDT and heat treatment procedures to various international specifications.
I was QA/QC Manager on The Emirates Tower Project in Dubai, which is one of the tallest buildings at 354 meters high. I was In charge of full inspection team, sub contractors and carried out all site inspections off and on site. Liased with Lead Consultants, construction management and architectural group.
Experienced on Power and Desalination plants, carrying out repair work on all pipelines and vessels, including gas, oil, steam and feed water. Installing turbine gas lines, testing and installation within a working plant. Installation of water lines for heat exchanges also heat exchange repairs.
Paint inspection including holiday/H.F.spark testing of rubber lined pipe spools. Witnessing and conducting hydro- testing of storage tanks, pressure vessels and pipelines. Documentation clearance, underwater surveys of pipelines & structures and co-ordinating inspection requirements. ASME Audit for U stamp, Review for reissue, ASME inspection on fabrication of pressure vessels. Fabrication inspection on storage tanks to API 650 - 620. DUTIES: As team leader on this project my role was divided between two projects, one of which was a large oil storage facility which carried a vaue of approx $100million and the other was an expansion project to the existing facility in Ruwais which was valued at $500 million. My role was to check all mechanical equipment, tank and piping systems on behalf of client on an expansion project to the refinery. Work includes expediting materials and packages at source and releasing to site, hydro testing, punch listing and review of test packs for compliance, also involved in mechanical walk downs for plant handover, lead inspection duties, coordinating inspections on Civils, E&I, Mechanical, Piping, and Painting. Review Contractor's QA/QC plans and procedures to verify if they comply with contractual obligations. - Advise the QA/QC Manager regarding the need for audits on the Contractor and their Suppliers. - Review and approve Contractor's QA/QC Documentation/Dossiers for a structured handover to commissioning team. - Receive and review Contractor field performance reports and initiate/monitor corrective action/resolution progress - Review Inspectors deliverables, analyse and resolve issues and problems emerging during the quality control activity. - Lead regular Quality reviews with Contractor to review quality, quality improvement efforts, quality issues/failures, NCR trends etc

DUTIES: This was a huge expansion project which was to increase turnover by at least 60%. This project was expected to take at least 3 years, however we completed our company completed in just over 1 year. The value of this project was approx $3 billion. My role was to Review Procedures, Specifications and Instructions for all the mechanical parts of the Project co-ordinating with various subcontractors, Checking welder qualifications, visiting and approving Sub Contractors suitable to perform the work required. Checking and approving Inspection and Test Plans, also visiting sub contractors for Inspection Hold Points and Expediting Inspection.

DUTIES: This was the second part of an original project which would increase the facility by 80%. I was responsible to ADNOC P.M.T. To inspect and witness all aspects of mechanical equipment, pumps, compressors, exchanges and boilers. Supervise all welding, testing and rotational equipment on oil and gas development project . Estimated value of this project was $2.5million.
NASA MULTIPLEX LLC
Position: QA/QC Manager. Emirates Tower Project. Dubai, UAE
Dates: November 1997 to January 2000 (End of project)
Duties: I was responsible to The Project Manager for all aspects of QA/QC for Emirates Tower Project, (Office Tower). At the time this was the tallest building in the U.A.E. standing at 354 meters high. This was a huge multi billion dollar contract. We started the office construction 2 month behind the hotel section which was worked on by another company. However we completed our office construction a full 2 month ahead of the hotel. This was due to the excellent workforce I had and the construction procedures which I implemented. I had a total staff of 20 including 5 Q/C Civil Inspectors, electrical, mechanical and welding inspectors during the building works and finishing works.
I co-ordinated all QA/QC activities with the major Sub Contractors and carried out all on and off site inspections. Carried out Co-ordination with Lead Consultants, Construction management + the architect Noor group.
Gammos Fabrication.

Dates: 1st April 1997 to November 1997(End of contract)
Duties: This was an ASME fabrication workshop. I was responsible to Vice President. Formulating Manual and Procedures for ISO 9001, Coordinating NDT subcontractors, Directing QA/QC department of six persons on work performed for Gas skids, Pressure vessels & associated piping, structural work, Storage tanks, Main codes used ASME, AWS D1.1, API RP 2A, ANSI. Duties: This project was a new venture for the Fochi Group. This was the first fabrication yard outside of Italy for them and at a value in excess of $60million. I wrote, developed and implemented the ASME manual and procedures. I then had ASME installed within 6 month of opening the facility. I tested and certified all welders. I collated all documentation related to API 650 storage tanks, ASME pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns & piping. Audited QC systems, co-ordinating NDT sub contractors - heat treatment / radiography. Conducting hydrotests and material inspection. Codes used - API 650 AWS D 1.1,ASME IX, ANSI B 31.1 & B 31.3, ASME VIII D V I + other ASME standards.Worked on contracts for FWEL/ADCO, WESCON, DUGAS, piping, pre assembled units, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and columns. Also worked in Kuwait for FOCHI/KIMEC on repairs to gathering centres in KOC oilfield after war with Iraq.
