Excellent opportunity exists for a suitable applicant to work in an exciting and expanding company in the renewable energy sector. Our client is well known in the renewable energy industry as they have been developing wind farms across the Eastern States. Due to the recent expansion and merger with a multinational company with presence in 15 countries, they are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join their growing team as a Project Development Engineer. The successful applicant will have a great opportunity to learn the principles of developing renewable projects and expand his/her career. Our client is based in a commercial CBD in North Shore – Sydney and close to public transport.
The appointee will report directly to the Development Manager and will be assisting the Development Manager in overseeing the progress of a number of projects in parallel. The development aspect of the company is part of a critical process which will lead to construction phase. Under the Development Manager’s guidelines, the Project Development Engineer will conduct preliminary assessment of potentially suitable sites, negotiate land agreements for wind farms, oversee the operation and maintenance of monitoring masts by contractors and also assist the Development Manager in negotiations, selection of consultants and management of various projects. Due to the nature of the business, travelling inter-state for site visits will be required from time to time.
The successful applicant will have completed a Bachelor degree in Environmental, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Experience in an engineering environment is favourable but not essential. Well developed written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in use of Autocad are absolutely decisive elements to be considered. The successful applicant will also need to be a team player. An understanding of the fundamentals of Wind Energy would be advantageous.
The remuneration package will be $45,000 per annum plus super plus performance bonus.
