| 
Engineering Manager, Naval Defence Projects Perth, WA
The Engineering Manager, is responsible for all the engineering (technical) aspects and systems, equipment and software covered by the contract. This position is the Company’s Design Authority (DA) for the design and modification of the Combat System, Shore Facilities, Internal External Communications System and any other systems covered by the project such that it meets the performance and engineering requirements and standards set by the Design Acceptance Authority.
The role will involve review and approval, via an Engineering Commitment of all engineering estimates and schedules throughout the program.
Design Authority for the Combat System, Shore Facilities and any other Systems covered by the project.
System, software and hardware architecture of all systems covered.
Certification of all approved changes to the design of the systems and equipment nominated under project.
Planning, establishment and maintenance of a cost effective support and development environment for all Systems covered under the contract.
Through interaction with Engineering Functional Managers, provide adequate and timely engineering resources to meet the Company’s technical obligations under the Service Descriptions
Timely notification to the client of all defects and design deficiencies of which the DA has become aware.
Introduction/modification of engineering processes and practices to meet the Company’s business targets, consistent with the quality and engineering procedures of the Company
Timely availability of technical and engineering support to the Systems covered under the contract to fulfil the DA capability identified within the contract
Coordination of engineering services, including: o Systems Engineering o Software Engineering o Hardware Engineering o Integration and Test o Configuration Management o Logistics Engineering o Planning and support to the Program Review and approval of all engineering plans and processes throughout the program
Technical performance monitoring and reporting to program
Attend Engineering review board meetings
Manage approval process in line with IPDS framework
Essential Requirements
Professional engineering qualifications sufficient for Membership of the Institute of Engineers, Australia.
At least twelve years of professional
Have held management level engineering or technical responsibility within Australia or similar organisation, engineering (post-graduation) experience,
Experience and qualifications sufficient to be appointed as the Design Authority in accordance with DI(N) TECH 9-
